Welcome to our Featured Tequila page. This page will be revised periodically to feature a different brand of Tequila. Our current "featured tequila" is: Kirkland Añejo
Kirkland Añejo Tequila is produced at the Fabrica de Tequilas Finos Distillery (NOM 1472) located in the town of Tequila, Jalisco. Kirkland Añejo is made of 100 % Blue Agave. The hand-selected piñas weigh 50-70 pounds with an average age of 8 years at harvest. This "extra-aged" spirit is double-distilled in stainless steel pot stills and aged an average of 3 years in American oak barrels. The tequila is then blended by Master Distiller Arturo Fuentes. Dark amber in color, this tequila has a peppery and smoky flavor with a hint of sweet spice. Kirkland is a signature brand carried by Costco. In November 2009, a one-liter bottle was selling for under $25 in the San Diego area. As shown, Kirkland Añejo doesn't come is a real fancy bottle and it lacks some complexity found in many extra añjos. It does not have a strong agave flavor, but for the price it is a pretty good value. [HOME ] [TOP][ALL ABOUT TEQUILA] |
